The iRun4Life Gives Back Program was started in 2017 and is our way of doing a “Giant Good Deed” for an elementary school in need. The recipient school often does not have the funds or resources to give its students access to modern and functional exercise equipment. Our goal is to provide new and innovative physical exercise equipment at the start of the school year to help these students stay active and fit all year long.
We encourage all iRun4Life schools to set aside one day during their eight-week training to participate in a special running event (color run, music-based relay races, obstacle courses, etc.) and fundraise for the school in need. The students bring in all of their donations during the fundraising week and iRun4Life matches their total donations up to $2,500.
In 2017, iRun4Life runners and their families raised over $7,500 to give new exercise equipment and gym supplies to Bayard Taylor Elementary School and Roosevelt Elementary School in Philadelphia.
In 2018, iRun4Life runners and their families raised $6,000 to purchase new exercise equipment for Thomas Mifflin Elementary School and the Edward Gideon School in Philadelphia.
In 2019, iRun4Life runners and their families raised $6,500 to purchase new exercise equipment from US Games for Robert Pollock Elementary and Garrettford Elementary schools in Philadelphia.
In 2022, iRun4Life runners, their families, CrossFit Summa and Seva Yoga together raised $5,000 to purchase new exercise equipment for Vare Washington Elementary and Paul Dunbar Elementary Schools in Philadelphia.
We are extremely proud of our iRun4Life runners who have participated in this fundraiser to share the gift of good health and help other students have the opportunity to exercise.
To become a Gives Back School recipient, the elementary school principal or PE teacher must submit an application specifying your school’s specific physical education needs. Please click on link below and email the completed application to information@iRun4Life.com.
