Too often, we hear in the news about the rising trend in childhood obesity rates. According to the Center for Disease Control, the percentage of children aged 6-11 years who were obese increased from 7% in 1980 to nearly 18% in 2012. This means that roughly 2 out of every 10 children are obese. As a parent, educator or general community member, this fact is very disturbing. Clearly there are substantial health concerns for these children, such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and high risk for diabetes and cardiovascular disease. iRun4Life's mission is to help these boys and girls learn about exercise and get them moving.
Please join us and help our next generation establish life-long habits for good health and fitness. You can help us in our mission to reduce childhood obesity by volunteering, sponsoring or donating to iRun4Life.
