The Inside Track - January 2016

From Our President
2016 is off to a great start.  We are growing, which means more children are running, eating better and doing good deeds.
Our website with mileage tracking and registration is up and "running" too.  We look forward to seeing the children use it to track their own miles and good deeds.
Last year iRun4Life won Best in Bucks Happening, we have been nominated again this year.
We ask for your support in these two categories.  Click on the links below to cast your votes.

New Board Members
iRun4Life is a volunteer run organization. The only way to support our mission is through the tireless efforts of our volunteers.  We'd like welcome our new board members; Trish Waugh - Vice President, Nick Sciurba - Partnership Director, Erin Rasnake - Medical Executive, Jan Lessman - Treasurer and Susan Kerrigan - Secretary.  They bring with them diverse backgrounds and dedication to iRun4Life. To read more about Trish, Nick, Jan and Susan click here.  Many thanks to Beth Brennan, Casey Meizinger and Kelly Sickles for their service.  You have made a difference through your dedication and continued support of our program.
Annual Directors Meeting
On January 14 our school directors met for their annual meeting.  This meeting gives our directors a chance to meet each other, share ideas and learn about the resources available to them as iRun4Life school directors.  This year's focus was automating the registration process and mileage tracking, as well as, volunteer background checks.  We'd like to thank our sponsor Sports Authority for providing meeting space.
2016 iRun4Life Kids Only 3k / Family Fun Day
The 7th annual iRun4Life Kids Only 3k will be on Sunday, May 15. The race kicks off a day of family fun and fitness at Doylestown's Central Park.  The US Tennis Association will be there along with other partner organizations with fun activities to keep your family fit.
Race registration will start the beginning of February.  Check the iRun4Life website and Facebook page for updates.  For sponsorship opportunities contact Nick Sciurba.
New Schools
We continue to grow and would like to welcome St. Jude's Catholic School to the iRun4Life family.  If you know of a school or would like more information on how to start an iRun4Life program please contact Judy Wexler for more information.
Background Checks
The new Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law requires all volunteers to obtain background check clearances prior to volunteering for iRun4Life. These clearance are good for 5 years.  Click here to find out more information on how to obtain these clearances.  The primary objective of the Background Check Screening Policy is to protect all the children who participate in our running programs. A secondary goal is to protect our parents and all volunteers who help make iRun4Life a success.
